Fall WEEK 2 - TK Distance Learning Packet! (NO PREP PRINTABLES!)

Here we go! WEEK TWO of my printable Distance Learning packet for TK! n this file, you will find all of the work for one week of school, for TK for both Math and Language Arts subjects. We've included a variety of worksheets and activities, so feel free to use any or all of it with your students! We have included practice with sorting, letter recognition, counting, patterning, and scissor practice. This week we're also starting the "A Pancake is a Circle" book craft for parents (or the teacher) to print out and do. Directions for how to make this craft is included, along with photos of each completed project.

This week focuses on: Alphabet overview, Numbers 0-10 overview, Basic shape overview, Name Practice: The Name Book, Basic concepts fluency chart: Food & Clothes, Behind/Next To/In Front Of, Colors, Small/Medium/Large, Many & Few, Pre-writing strokes practice on Sky-Grass-Dirt paper

Hands on activities include: Color sorting, Torn Paper A art project, Counting activity with linking cubes, AB Patterning activity with linking cubes, Scissor practice page, "A Pancake is a Circle" book craft, Pages 1-3: pancake, plate, pizza, Rhyme or Not Game Letter Match activity

Directions & some templates for art projects are included, along with photos of each completed project. Please note that this packet is appropriate for TK, but can be used in Kindergarten depending on your class needs.

We've divided everything up by day of the week, (Monday-Friday) so you have the option of sending this entire packet to students, with everything labeled out on what to do each day! Permission is granted to distribute to families/students in your classroom.

In my experiences, children in TK generally need much more time to learn, and even more developmentally appropriate, hands-on activities than are necessary for most children in Kindergarten. Check out our HeidiSongs internet video site for more videos and songs to help kids learn their letters, shapes, numbers, and more, and follow along with the Monthly Kindergarten Pacing Guide collections if wanted. However, a subscription to our internet video streaming site is not included.

Again, I highly recommend that buyers take a look at my Parent Guide Posters that explain how to teach a child to hold a pencil, use scissors, glue, glue stick, write names, etc. They are fully editable, so that you can change the language used to cue children with your own directions. These are NOT INCLUDED in this packet, because they would have driven the price up dramatically, and not everyone may want to use both those posters and these lesson plans. However, I will be sending them home with my students along with my packet from the first week.

Please follow my blog for tips on how to adapt these activities for use in the classroom. Each item in this packet is the very similar to the ones I would have done in the classroom. For example, I have included a printable alphabet sort, but in class, we do this with foam letters rather than paper ones. If you are interested in how to make your activities for home and school roughly the same, just follow the blog for more information.
