Heidi's Sing-Along Song Video Contest - Deadline Extension!

We've extended the time to submit a video of your students singing and performing one of their favorite songs... new deadline February 28th!

video

We've had so many fun submissions, but a couple of concerned teachers have indicated that they did not get enough time after the holidays to work the contest into their schedules, so we're adding a couple of weeks for late submissions, giving everyone until February 28th to complete their videos.

The competition is very strong. Just check out the video from Kerri Rea's Kindergarten class at Columbia Elementary, Joplin Public Schools, Joplin Missouri. She writes, "My Kindergarten class LOVES the DVD's! We sing songs with you every day. I am collecting data on our Popcorn Words for kindergarten and since starting your videos, my students have shown significant progress. My students were really excited when they heard about your contest. Their favorite song is the "IS" song. THANKS SO MUCH for this great resource!"

Well, thank you Kerri and to your class, plus the many more who have already submitted their videos! But the door is still open just a little longer to get your class in on the fun. Get your camera's out and see if you can't win the grand prize... one of every item from the Heidisongs catalog, or one of the many honorable mentions.

We'll be posting a new entry each week, so check back often for more fun videos!

Good Luck!

Heidi's Sing-Along Song Video Contest

Submit a video of your students singing and performing one of your students favorite songs... and win some CD's and DVD's for the whole class to enjoy!

video

I get so many little videos from teachers proudly showing off their kids singing along to one of my songs, that we thought it would be fun to make a contest out of it! So for the month of January, we're putting together a little contest that will get everyone in on the fun.

Here's how to enter:
1: Check with your parents and principal to see if there are any issues with shooting and posting the students likeness to an educational blog. My parents get a kick out of seeing their kids on our website, but sometimes you'll get a parent who is "undecided" about media issues like this, and it's best to involve them in another activity during this time.

2: Have your class choose their favorite Heidisongs song from any of the CD's or DVD's, then pull out your Digital Camera, Digital Video Camera or even a Cell Phone, any device that shoots video that you could pull off and email easily. Be sure to use a tripod or brace yourself well, since many of these devices don't handle motion very well, and we want to see your classroom at it's best!

3: Send us the file with the following information: Your name, your school, and the state your in, plus an email address that we can contact you with. If the file size is larger than about 1mb, we use a service called MailBigFile (http://free.mailbigfile.com/) to easily send large files up to 200mb. If you have any questions, just drop us a line at Heidi@Heidisongs.com and we'll help in any way possible.

That's all we'll need. We'll post them to the Heidisongs Resource Blog site (http://heidisongs.blogspot.com/) and as they come in and hope you'll comment on you're favorites! We'll announce the winners in early February. The Grand Prize winners may even get a spot in one of Heidi's presentations this year, and a featured location on the website, showing off just how great your class is!
