I have the first THREE WEEKS of the Winter/Second Trimester distance learning packets DONE and ready for you!! Just like the previous weeks, in these files, you will find all of the work for one week of school each, for TK, with some worksheets that will work for Kindergarten, for both Math and Language Arts subjects. We've included a variety of worksheets and activities, so feel free to use any or all of it with your students! These first three weeks are HOLIDAY THEMED! So they're all in one nice little set for you! This post is from a few years ago when I wasn't teaching remotely, but I wanted to share it again for any teachers or parents that may be looking for some fun Holiday STEM ideas! Read on! :) Today I am super excited to share TWO fun and easy STEM ideas that I did this month with my TKs! The first idea is called “Santa’s Chimney Challenge,” and the second is “Build a Shelf for the Elf.” The kids absolutely LOVED them both, and you KNOW that if these ideas work well in TK, then they will surely work in Kindergarten and first grade, (and probably even Pre-K, too!) Both of these activities were easy enough for the kids to do by themselves, which is a HUGE plus- am I right?  And that is really the trick when planning any STEM activity for young children.  You have to find the right balance between challenge and what’s possible for your students in order for them to really enjoy it.  If it’s too easy, it’s loses its excitement.  If it’s too hard, they can get discouraged and then

I’ve been asked about my virtual schedule over and over again! I thought it was time to write it up and put it in one place I could use to share with you all!! Enjoy! Note: I use Zoom, and nearly always share my ENTIRE DESKTOP when screen sharing, so that I can put myself right NEXT to the tab I want to share on the screen. I shrink down the size of the internet tab, and then put the Zoom screen right next to it, with the speaker (me) highlighted. That way, the kids can see my face while I teach, as well as the tab I want to display.
