‘Losing is Okay, Too’ Social Story for Good Sportsmanship!

Image
Today I'd like to share with you a new social story, Winning and Losing: Losing is Okay, Too!   I created this resource to help children learn to be a good sport and find ways to manage their emotions when they lose a game. It teaches children what they can say and do if they lose a game other than have a meltdown or a tantrum, and helps them to understand that losing really is okay, too! With this printable book, children learn that the fun is found in playing the game, not in winning the game. Unlike many social stories, our HeidiSongs social stories have great illustrations that children will enjoy! This printable book is 16 pages long, and is presented in both color and black and white. Each page can be printed full size at 8.5” x 11”, or four pages to a sheet to save ink and paper. There is also a student size at 4.5" x 3.5", in both color and black and white, with 4 student sized pages to a full page, and lines showing where to cut apart to assemble into a

Monthly Calendars for Number Writing Practice!

Image
This is a resource that I have been using for years and years, and never thought about sharing, so I hope you enjoy using it as much as I have! It's my Monthly Calendars for Number Writing Practice ! I think that this resource is extra special because it is fully differentiated. It can be used by children that can only trace lines, and by children that can write up to ten, and by others that are learning to write to 20, and those that can write up to 30 or 31! So, each calendar is perfect for your little ones, no matter what time of year. And did I mention that we will be updating this file each year so that it stays up to date? That makes it sort of like a “growing bundle,” kind of! Here are the different versions: Version 1: Traceable from 1-10 and solid numbers after that to the last day of the end of the month. Version 2: Blank squares to write numbers from 1-10, but shows where to begin on the first day of the month with a traceable number one. Traceable numbers

Benchmark Users: How to Give FREE Home Access to HeidiSongs!

Image
Does your district use the language arts curriculum Benchmark Advance or Ready to Advance? If so, then you're in luck! Here's how to give your students home access to HeidiSongs videos on Benchmark completely FREE! I’ve been doing this for the last two years, and it’s AWESOME! The basic idea is that you need to make an assignment on Benchmark for your students, and then drag those videos over to the assignment as the materials you want them to use. Then you will choose the students that the assignment is for, and the dates. When I make an assignment, I drag over ALL of the sight word videos that they may need for the entire year, and then make the dates starting on that day and ending on the last day of school. That way, I don’t ever have to make another assignment for them, unless I want to give them access to some of the Sing and Spell videos that are above the TK level, just to challenge the faster learning students. There are also shape songs that can be put

Editable Visual Schedule: Perfect for Home Use!

Image
Today, I want to tell you about my Visual Schedule, because I know that some people really need to have a schedule to follow at home!  This Visual Schedule is a great resource for that because it is completely  editable!   Both the text and the photos can be replaced to match exactly what you do in your own classroom, (or home!) It's only $3.00 on my TPT store!   You can use your photos or mine, and your captions or mine! Why post a visual schedule? Many children benefit from having a schedule for the day posted, especially children with special needs. And of course, the fact that it contains photos assists children that may not yet be able to read. If you are able to replace the photos supplied with real photos of your own home or classroom, this is sure to be the most meaningful thing to your learners. A visual schedule is a well known tool to reduce any anxiety children may feel about what will be happening during the day, and what is coming next. It also helps them
